Senior Direct Marketing Officer

A great opportunity has arisen for a Senior Direct Marking Officer for a youth related charity in order to plan, devise and manage key areas of the charity"s direct marketing programme, working collaboratively and in line with business objectives. This will be a temporary role based in London.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Develop, implement and manage specific aspects of the appeals programme which may include committed giving, legacy, in memoriam and online marketing activities in line with business objectives.
Develop, manage and monitor the regular giving programme.
Develop, manage and monitor the Legacy Programme, including the production of materials and prospect targeting.
Prepare regular reports and present findings to the DM& Legacies Manager.
Write and issue all appropriate campaign, fulfilment and data briefs.
Take responsibility for all specific appeal coding requirements including regularly updating the coding tracking spreadsheet.
Work collaboratively with other members of the direct marketing team in order to enhance the supporter journey.
Work with internal departments including Finance and Database Development as well as Fundraising Colleagues.
Liaise with internal and external sources for current reports, facts and figures for use in appeals and marketing materials.
The post involves managing relationships with external suppliers, such as a direct marketing agency, telemarketing agency and fulfilment houses.
Process invoices from third party suppliers in accordance with internal systems.
Keep informed of market trends and recommend potential avenues for the charity to change and grow its direct marketing and legacies programme.
Undertake any other projects as and when required by the DM and Legacies Manager.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Degree in a relevant discipline or qualified by experience
Experience of managing direct marketing campaigns, across a range of media.
Experience of managing supplier and/or internal departments to deliver campaigns.
Experience of writing plans and budgets.
Understanding of database marketing practices, such as data extracts, segmentation, mailing files and reports.
Experience of managing direct marketing campaigns, working with more than one supplier or internal department.
Experience in digital marketing and appeals.
Excellent, proven project management skills.
Ability to critically evaluate creative work and copy in order to produce effective direct marketing communications.
Ability to analyse campaign results and draw conclusions for future work.
Ability to manage relationships with external agencies and internal departments.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to think independently and exercise judgement.
