Marketing and Communications Assistant

A great opportunity has arisen for a Marketing and Communications Assistant for an education related charity in order to support the Head of Marketing and Communications to manage member communications, support marketing activities for events and support the production and development of member benefits. This will be a permanent role based in London.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Writing, building and sending monthly member benefit email campaigns
Supporting the PR Manager with public relations activities by:
- updating and maintaining the press contacts database
- distributing press releases to trade media and stakeholders
- drafting press releases
- maintaining a media monitoring system.
Assisting with the production and distribution of marketing materials, including leaflets and brochures, and liaising with designers, printers and mailing houses.
Managing orders of patient leaflet information resources, including monitoring stock levels and investigating and issues with delivery.
Organising photo shoots
Supporting the Marketing and Communications (Digital) with online activities such as updating website, managing the trainee jobs board, and assisting with content management of the charity"s social media pages.
Assisting with any other marketing and communications activities and administrative tasks as and when required.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Essential:
Experience in using social media as part of an integrated marketing plan
Writing for a range of audiences and mediums
Work experience of delivering services to customers
Excellent written communication skills
Knowledge of MS Office: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
Accurate keyboard skills

Desirable:
Some experience in a marketing/communications role
Knowledge of the charity and not-for-profit sector
Experience in online communications
Experience building email marketing campaigns
Experience of commissioning and managing print, design and video production projects
Experience of using Adobe Creative Suite, in particular, InDesign and Photoshop
Experience of using databases, web-based tools and website content management systems
