Marketing Manager ( Events and Membership)

A great opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Manager (Events and Membership) for an environmental charity in order to develop and programme manage a full-service marketing framework for multiple clients, and their members, across campaigns, publications, digital and social media, PR and events. Marketing Manager will develop and implement national and international event strategies. This will be a full time role.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Contributing to the overall marketing strategy for your clients
Ensuring clear understanding of the proposition, whether event or membership
Clarifying target audiences, what they are looking for and how to reach them
Writing and developing clear marketing plans
Brokering & maintaining marketing partnerships with relevant organisations to increase market reach
Writing succinct and powerful marketing copy to be used across a number of marketing channels to attract target audiences
Creating marketing collateral (brochures, logos, AND ADVERTS etc.) for both digital and print media
Maintaining and, where appropriate, creating websites that highlight key USPs and benefits of products
Developing, executing and programme managing assigned projects and event marketing frameworks
Ensuring maximum Return on Investment from marketing budgets
Meeting or exceeding agreed marketing campaign targets
Managing relationships and negotiating contra agreements with media and co-marketing partners to maximise free marketing opportunities for assigned projects and events
Managing and maintaining effective relationships with publishing, marketing, event and PR partners as appropriate
Contributing to improving and growing the customer and marketing databases
Proactively managing project and event marketing budgets
Reporting on marketing activities and performance v budget/target


In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Significant experience in event marketing
The ability to work well in a team and take responsibility for project management of a portfolio of events from conception to completion which meet or exceed agreed marketing campaign targets and gross profit margins
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
Excellent copy writing skills
Excellent organisation skills and ability to manage own workload in a very busy organization
Brand and market awareness
Strong commercial acumen and interest in this sector
Intellectual curiosity – innate desire to learn about new topics and quickly develop an understanding of new areas and their relevance
Excellent interpersonal skills - able to communicate and network effectively
Lots of energy - willing to get stuck in on a variety of tasks
Desire to travel with work
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
