Assistant Head of Individual Giving
A homelessness charity are recruiting a strategic leader to join their fundraising and communications team, as the Assistant Head of Individual Giving. Reporting directing to the Deputy Director of Fundraising, the role is key to implementing and helping to inform the fundraising strategy that underpins the charity"s ambition.
-Give strategic leadership, direction and management to our supporter involvement, community and events and legacy fundraising within the wider Individual Giving team, leading to an increase in our unrestricted net income across these areas.
-Lead on benchmarking and identifying key relationship building trends within the sector and recommend growth areas to further develop our donor centric approach and enable us to build greater affinity and loyalty.
-Oversee the development and implementation of the stewardship strategy and donor journeys based on our 'donor voice" key principles and learnings across the wider team.
-Oversee the digital transformation and implementation of our donor journeys, stewardship and analysis.
-Produce long term 3-5 year modelling and projections, budgets and annual work plan and KPIs to support the delivery of income and supporter engagement targets.
-To lead and manage a high performing team
-Develop, manage and report monthly on the annual fundraising budget and reforecasts to ensure the agreed income and expenditure targets are met.
-Ensure teams keep database records (on Raiser"s Edge) maintained and up to date.
-Ensure a high level of trust in our fundraising, and that teams are clear on risk areas and are managing reputational issues, responding to and recording positive and negative feedback systematically.
-Experience in developing the stewardship strategy and effective implementation for both individual giving relationship fundraising and legacy fundraising – with demonstrable success.
-Experience of leading high performing, experienced donor centric fundraising teams.
-Experience of financial responsibility: in setting and achieving ambitious fundraising targets, creating and controlling lifetime value forecasting models and annual budgets.
-Experience of using data, insight and complex funding need budgets to determine and create proposals and strategies to develop new areas of fundraising or to develop existing functions.
-Ability to lead, motivate, delegate, collaborate and negotiate in order to achieve the objectives of the team and the wider organisation.
-Excellent communication skills, orally and in writing; including using MS Office.
-Ability to manage a busy workload and multiple priorities.
-An up to date working knowledge of current issues, thinking and developments in fundraising and its regulation, in particular individual giving relationship and legacy fundraising.
-Sound understanding of the management of complex fundraising information and modelling, preferably using Raiser"s Edge.
-A knowledge of and interest in the issues facing homeless people.
