Senior Front-End Developer

Senior Front-End Developer - 6 month FTC
£35,560

A homelessness charity are looking for a Senior Front-End Developer to design and develop web solutions for the charity"s marketing, fundraising, policy and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities:

- Create web pages, document types, data types, stylesheets and additional functionality on
the website which is run on an Umbraco .Net content management system (CMS)
- Help to manage the CMS through writing and maintaining clean code and a logical structure
- Engage with colleagues in Marketing and other teams throughout the charity from the initial
planning stage of a project and manage projects through to implementation
- With guidance from the Digital Manager and other Senior Developer, manage projects
through the briefing, design, development, testing and rollout phases ensuring that good
documentation is maintained throughout
- Ensure that all solutions are mobile-optimised and tested on a variety of devices
- Maintain a clean codebase through implementing and improving our workflow process using
Git and Visual Studio
- Help develop our digital environment through keeping up to date with latest technology, code libraries etc
- Create visual assets for social media and other online channels
- Training colleagues on how to use the website CMS.

Person specification:

Essential:
- Demonstrable background in digital design/development or related discipline.
- Detailed knowledge of HTML5, CSS and javascript
- Experience of using JS libraries such as jQuery, createJS
- Good problem solving techniques, the ability to work with and around the limitations of a
CMS
- Experience of the .Net MVC framework, with a focus on C# and Razor
- Solid design skills and experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and related
packages – as comfortable providing a good visual to a client as you are compiling the code
that makes it work
- The ability to understand how your work fits into the bigger picture, how digital works
alongside print design, social media and other communications channels
- A constant commitment to learning new skills. If you don"t know something you know where
to look or who to ask
- Proactive, and able to suggest and articulate new ideas and solutions
- Good work management, time management and prioritisation

Desirable:
- Experience of working with the Umbraco CMS
- Experience of working with SQL
- Experience of working with the Adestra email marketing system
- Experience of using the Git command line
