Press and PR Manager 12 month contract

12 Month Contract

A high profile and well respected charity is looking for a Press and PR Manager to join their team in Central London.

Key Responsibilities will include:

-Develop media strategies to promote the charity through the media and ensure all media contacts and opportunities are exploited

-Maintain excellent working relationships with existing media contacts and develop new contacts to aid the promotion of the charity's work

-Write press releases, features and other media materials quickly to tight deadlines, and ensure they are delivered to a high standard

-Sell in stories and features to journalists and identify appropriate opportunities to respond to breaking news

-Offer expert advice to colleagues on press and communications issues, offering creative solutions and developing programmes to maximise press and PR opportunities, as well as responding to challenging situations

In Order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

-Extensive proven experience of working in journalism or public relations

-Experience of interpreting complex information for lay audiences, ideally in a health or science- related field

-Significant demonstrable experience of writing and editing press releases and articles that deliver quality media coverage

-Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships

-Some experience of strategic planning and target setting

-Experience of staff management and development
