Legacy Marketing Officer

An International charity in London, have an exciting opening for an experienced Legacy Marketing Officer or experienced Direct Marketing Officer to work with them ASAP until the start of September.
 
Description:
To work with the legacy and in memory giving team to maximise income from legacies in order to achieve a multi-million pound step change in income in accordance with strategic priorities over the next five years.
To be responsible for developing and delivering on legacy central marketing activity including literature reviews and development, direct mail and telephone marketing campaigns, warm and cold legacy advertising and other response generation activity.
To lead on the development on the in memory giving programme to increase in memory giving income and be responsible for the coordination of central and regional in memory giving promotions, integrating these within legacy and wider supporter journeys.  This includes the management of our online tribute site and development of its associated stewardship programme.  
To deliver, through agreed strategies, on targets to increase the number of legacy enquiries, pledges and income.  
To work with the Legacy Marketing Manager to develop and implement a legacy supporter journey, and to fully integrate this within wider supporter journeys.
To lead on data extraction, manipulation and analysis to facilitate effective targeting of legacy promotional and stewardship activities.
To provide research and information to support and inform national and regional strategy development.
To be responsible for improved and maintained processes around supporter stewardship relating to legacy and in memory giving.  
To manage relationships with creative agencies and suppliers.
To act as Line Manager for the Legacy Marketing Assistant.
 
Essential Experience.
Degree or equivalent other training and experience in this area of work or in fundraising.
Interest in developing world issues.
Substantial fundraising or marketing experience in a wide range of marketing disciplines
Sound knowledge of marketing/fundraising techniques.
Ability to develop and implement creative and effective marketing strategies.
Significant experience in data selection and data analysis with the purpose of informing supporter communications.
Excellent project management skills and substantial experience of managing relationships with creative agencies and external suppliers.
A sound understanding of the financial and legal issues relating to legacies.      
Ability to understand and to communicate complex and sensitive legal and financial issues.
An ability to influence both colleagues and supporters.
Significant experience handling competing priorities.
Experience of handling sensitive legacy/in memory discussions with supporters with tact and compassion.
Experience working independently and an ability to use own initiative to meet targets and to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Experience of working with databases or CRM systems.
Significant experience of working effectively as part of a team.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the regions.
