Sparks Overcome Cancer Research UK To Win 2010 Charity Softball League
Sparks beat last year's winners CRUK at the final of the Charity Softball League played on Thursday 2nd September in Hyde Park, London.
Harris Hill sponsors and actively supports the League which was started 8 years ago to encourage and support inter-charity relations: it now boasts 48 charities - all competing for the coveted trophy. Around 450 spectators turned out for the final and enjoyed a great match played in a competitive yet good humoured manner!
Aled Morris, Managing Director of Harris Hill commented that: "We're very proud sponsors of the League and we're looking at ways to encourage even more charities to come on board in the future. This year's final proves that you don't have to be the biggest charity on the block to win the cup!"

New Senior Consultant For Our Executive Search Division
We are pleased to announce that Sandra Hamovic has joined our Executive Search division from Veredus where where she was the lead Consultant to the Not-for-Profit Practice. Sandra has 8 years' experience in executive recruitment and has managed a range of assignments across the charity, social enterprise and cultural sectors. Sandra joins our team during a period that has seen a dramatic increase in the demand for our executive search services.
Research Into Charity Chief Executives' Careers
At the Institute of Fundraising Convention we presented a session entitled 'Getting to CEO - Insider Knowledge to Help You Get There!'. We revealed the results of our research with charity chief executives that uncovered the strategies they used to help them to achieve their first CEO post. Networking, finding a mentor and building your public profile were recommended. And aspiring CEOs were also advised to broaden their skills base to include operational and strategic planning.

Supporting The Sector
We're committed to supporting the charity sector and our team is always out fundraising for a range of good causes. Stella and Anton ran the Marathon, raising more than £3,000 for The Samaritans. Aled, our CEO, and 3 cycling buddies successfully tackled the Etape, the amateur stage of the Tour de France and have already raised £4,000 for Lynn's Bowel Cancer Campaign. And our Dress Down Days have raised £500 so far this year.
