I am currently looking for an Archive Move Assistant for a part-time (17.5 hours a week) 8-week temporary assignment, with an amazing children's charity based in Hackney. The purpose of this role is to assist the Records and Archive Centre Team with its move to new premises and the updating of archival retrieval systems, the location record and other related post-move activities. The role will work to the Archivist responsible for the Relocation Project.

Main duties:
Carrying out box and shelf audits
Updating box locations on CALM and/or Excel
Sorting, filing, repackaging and labelling archive material
Box listing archive material on CALM and/or Excel
Creating and editing accession entries on CALM under the supervision of a qualified archivist
Assisting with the unpacking of items in the office
Scanning records and photographs
Dealing with routine enquiries
Other responsibilities as required commensurate with the level and nature of this role

Essential skills:
Attention to detail
Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Good organisational skills
Flexible with the ability to move between different tasks at short
notice according to organisational requirements
Able to work with minimal supervision
Able to quickly acquire competence in the use of new IT applications
Able to maintain confidentiality when working with records containing personal data
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (specifically Word, Excel and Outlook)

Desirable:
Good working knowledge of Axiell CALM
Knowledge of BS4971:2017 and good practice in relation to the repackaging and storage of archival material
