Streatham Youth and Community Trust (SYCT) is looking for a driven, collaborative, and tenacious leader who shares our values to be our next Chief Executive Officer. With the leadership of our next CEO, we will develop and deliver on an ambitious strategy that will ensure we can continue to provide the highest quality youth services to our diverse community.

We have been working with the young people of Streatham since 1946, and we are one of the leading providers of youth services in the borough of Lambeth. Our services include Youth Clubs, Adventure Play, Stay and Play, Preschool Nursery, Sports, Employment Support, Community Health, School Holiday Clubs and Residentials.

With the cost-of-living crisis hitting our disadvantaged young people the hardest, our work has never been more important. Our next CEO will lead a committed and experienced team and work with an engaged board to set a vision for SYCT, grow and diversify our income to ensure long-term sustainability, and ensure our values continue to drive every aspect of our work.

Role: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Streatham Youth and Community Trust
Salary: circa £70,000
Contact: permanent, full time
Location: Streatham, London

As well as a demonstrable commitment to and alignment with our mission, vision and values, the successful candidate will have:

  • Track record of senior leadership at an organisation of comparable scale and complexity

  • Experience of developing and implementing transformational, impactful and sustainable organisational strategies

  • Demonstrable success in developing, managing and leading strong teams through collaborative working, coaching and visionary leadership

  • Experience of working effectively with non-executive boards

  • Track record of effective, mutually beneficial partnership working across organisations, including successfully working through influence

  • Demonstrable commercial acumen - track record of successful business development, including developing and growing organisational income

  • Experience of managing significant budgets

  • Experience of organisational risk management

  • An understanding of charity governance

  • An understanding of issues effecting children and young people living in urban areas and relevant local and national policy and its impact
