Environmental Advisor
Location: London Office- Office, Home working and Hybrid working options available (For Homeworking contracts London weighting of £3,684 will only apply to those living within the M25. Hybrid working necessitates spending a minimum of 40% of your time in the Office)
The post-holder will be line-managed by the Head of Programme Quality and Partner Support. The role will include distance support and may include international travel.
Job Profile
The post-holder will work with programme teams and specified partners to:
- Embed environmental awareness, protection, and regeneration within our integral ecology programme model as we seek to exemplify environmental stewardship and contribute to transformative change.
- Provide technical support during the design, implementation, and evidencing of programme strategies and relevant projects, across development and humanitarian thematic areas of work.
- Co-ordinate, facilitate, and embed learning and good practice across programme teams, and promote South-South learning, sharing and support.
Person specification
- Experience of working in partnership with diverse local and international organisations in Asia, Africa, and Latin America;
- Experience of working across thematic areas in development and humanitarian programmes;
- Able to build relationships and empower diverse stakeholders, across geographic
- Proven experience working on the environment and / or climate adaptation within development and humanitarian programmes, across multiple thematic areas, particularly in partnership-based models;
- Proven experience of developing standards, guidelines, tools, and training resources to embed environmental awareness, protection and regeneration within development and humanitarian programmes;
- Proven experience of providing senior level technical advice on programme design, implementation, and evidencing to protect and regenerate the environment;
- Proven experience in the effective use of evidencing approaches and tools to support programme adaptation and strengthen programme quality.
