Head of Transformation

Job description

A charity are looking for a Head of Transformation to support the senior management team in delivering on their next strategy and strategic projects . You will lead on transforming how their programme/service is delivered, and how staff & volunteers are supported.

You will provide oversight to strategic projects across all directorates and ensure that sound processes andsystems are in place for project delivery and reporting.  You will also lead on the development and delivery of a clear communications plan for organisational transformation.

You should have extensive experience of managing significant projects or programmes as well as conducting effective stakeholder engagement activities and highly developed influencing skills. You will need a track record in change management and project management.

Key Responsibilities:
-To lead business planning processes across the charity to develop the transformation roadmap and portfolio of change initiatives.
-To ensure transformation plans and activities are appropriately defined and co-ordinated.
-To track progress to enable the Chief Executive and Directors to understand how well the transformation plans and strategy are being delivered and amend as required.
-To oversee multiple projects and support Project Leads in the design, implementation and review phases of project cycle.
-To manage the impact of change across the charity and inform and influence decisions to minimise conflicts and land the change successfully.
-To oversee the preparation, review and reporting of projects against agreed milestones and reporting to the Director of Strategy.
-To line manage, coach & develop the Transformation team in order to support the delivery of change across the business.
-To work with the L&D team to carry out learning needs analysis to identify generic gaps in skills, knowledge and experience across the organisation and develop plans to upskill staff and volunteers.
-To engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure all parties understand the need for the change and their role within it.
-To provide thought leadership to the Directors and Project Leads to ensure that projects are scoped and planned appropriately to meet the required strategic outcomes.

Skills and Experience required:
-Extensive experience of managing significant projects or programmes; and use of programme management methodologies
-Strong motivational leadership, stakeholder and matrix management experience
-Experience of leading culture change initiatives
-Strong change management skills
-Strategic thinker who is able to understand and articulate the big picture and see how decisions and choices affect the long-term vision
-Highly developed verbal and influencing skills, with the ability to deliver powerful presentations
-Ideally a project management qualification such as MSP Practitioner or Prince 2
