Joining a fantastic Animal charity based in London, you will be the first point of contact and expert for all things media, building stand-out stories, creating impact, acting as celebrity liaison and leading on crisis management.

Do you have experience of managing a busy press office? Are you personable, collaborative and driven and do you love managing and getting the most out of a team? Do you have great media contacts, can you write persuasively and use your initiative? If yes, the position of PR Manager could be the perfect fit.

The PR team focuses on media relations work proactively selling stories into the media as well as reacting to enquiries, and ensuring they re equipped to handle a crisis. They also lead on the work with celebrities and TV programmes.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Management of the PR function. Drafts the annual PR plan, with guidance from the Head of PR and Internal Communications, and manages the team so they deliver nationally and regionally, developing them as individuals and coaching them to achieve their objectives

- Leads on stand-alone PR stories and is the PR lead for integrated campaigns

- Manages the press office function and media relations. Ensures we respond to media in timely, helpful fashion, getting across our intentions as clearly as possible.

- Management of team members, including remote Regional PR Manager. Helps individual team members develop and progress, and deals with management tasks like regular 121s, appraisals, annual leave, sick leave, performance issues, etc.


Based in London.
Salary £40,000- £47,000

Please note this role also plays an active role in the out of hours press phone rota and is available out of hours for support and advice. This role requires travel to our other sites and occasional overnight stays.
