Senior Impact and Learning Manager

Job description

Maudsley Charity are an independent NHS charity focusing on improving mental health care and support, particularly for those most severely affected by mental illness. As an independent NHS charity, we draw on our endowment to help NHS teams to enhance their work to benefit patients and build collaborative new approaches to some of the most challenging issues in mental health.

The Charity give grants, which range from multi-million pound clinical and research initiatives intended to drive change across the UK, to smaller scale projects directly supporting people who experience mental illness. They have a specific focus in their work on the needs and challenges of those who have experienced, or who are most at risk of experiencing mental illness.

Maudsley Charity is looking for a Senior Impact and Learning Manager to join our recently established Programmes Team on a permanent basis.

The Maudsley Charity - Senior Impact and Learning Manager

Location: Denmark Hill, London (and home working)

Salary: £48,000 - £52,000 per annum (dependent on experience) plus excellent benefits

Contract: Permanent

We are an ambitious and values-driven team, currently entering a new phase of programme development where we are modelling new ways of working with award holders to develop evidence and increase impact.

We are looking for a Senior Impact and Learning Manager who is excited about joining the Charity at an exciting time as we evolve this sharper focus on impact in all that we do. Your role will be pivotal in making this a success, co-developing and delivering on an organisational approach to impact, working closely alongside the Director of Programmes and CEO.

The role will lay out frameworks for evaluation and monitoring and will develop and deliver on a suitable strategy for the Charity, working closely with Directors. The post holder will bring qualitative and quantitative expertise to the Charity and will be accountable for ensuring we develop and deliver on suitable analysis tools and impact reporting for the Charity, working with Communications and Programmes colleagues to achieve this.

As a team we value and acknowledge diverse experiences, voices and perspectives, particularly those who come from minoritised communities and/or have direct experience of living with mental illness or being a carer for someone living with mental illness.

Senior Impact and Learning Manager will be able to draw on a significant budget for evaluation and learning support partners as part of the role. This role offers the chance to develop and implement a cross- organisation strategy with support and resource in place for this work to happen.

We want to be the best at understanding the impact of what we do, learning about the interventions that work - and those that don't - and using them for the benefit of everyone.
