Senior Policy Officer

Harris Hill are proud to be supporting an influential women's rights organisation to recruit a Senior Policy Officer. You will play a critical role in supporting the development of policy positions and proposals across a broad spectrum of issue areas as they relate to violence against women and girls to inform and support our campaigning aims and objectives. Working closely with the Head of Campaigns and Policy, the role will support our evidence-based campaigning, generate and contribute to critical policy discussions, and support the organisation's broad lobbying and influencing strategies.

Key responsibilities will include;

- Keeping abreast of comprehensive and up-to-date policy intelligence including new research, statistics, political developments, member and broader voluntary sector policy positions
- Taking the lead on key areas of policy, including research, production of policy reports, dissemination, identification of key messages and campaigning activities
- Producing high quality, authoritative outputs including briefings, publications, web copy and other materials that communicate complex messages clearly and effectively to a range of audiences, including politicians, campaigners, members, professionals and other stakeholder
- Supporting in developing and delivering annual and thematic campaigns plans
- Identifying, advising on and drafting policy content and recommendations
- Building relationships with the organisation's members and partners, including from organisations and movements concerned with human rights, anti-racism, equality and non-discrimination, refugee and migrants' rights and disabled people's organisations, among others

This varied and hands on role would ideally suit an experienced policy candidate with a clear values match with this organisation. You will be an excellent communicator and confident developing influencing relationships with policy decision makers. A good grasp of the current landscape pertaining to women and girls and domestic violence policy would also be of significant benefit.
