Grant Providing charity logo

Senior Press and Media Officer (Part Time)

Job description

I’m keen to speak to a confident media professional, with sound political acumen and judgement and good stakeholder management experience, about a new opportunity as a Part-time Senior Press and Media Officer with a fantastic charity in London.

This organisation is one of the most radical and exciting grant programmes ever launched by a major lottery funder. The programme was designed not just to provide funding for projects in areas that had historically missed out, but to do so in a way that would build community capacity, confidence and skills in the longer term. The Policy Team was set up to amplify the learning and champion the change that residents want to see in their areas. They aim to influence government and policymakers around the benefits of a hyper-local, bottom-up approach to policymaking. To do this they run campaigns, commission research, run events and submit evidence from the programme to the government and other bodies.

This is the perfect role for a media professional looking for an opportunity to have real influence and drive impact.

The ideal candidate for the role will have:

- Solid PR / Media experience

- Demonstrable experience gaining coverage across a range of channels

- Excellent media contacts

- Experience of using press and media work to secure changes in policy

Minimum 1 day a week in London (office is in Bermondsey). (Hybrid working)

Permanent and Part Time (3 days a week)

£36,000 - £40,000 FTE.

The charity is looking to meet people ASAP, and review applications, and interview on a rolling basis. Therefore please get in touch ASAP to find out more!
