Social Media Officer

Job description

Harris Hill is seeking a Heavyweight Social Media Officer for 2-4 months, starting January on a hybrid basis, supporting a national children's charity in London.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated self-starter to lead on delivering engaging advice and support focused content on all  social media channels. Advising and working closely with teams around the organisation, this role also supports our awareness building and fundraising campaigns and uses strong editorial judgement to ensure a balanced and mixed content approach to our channels

Main duties:

Creating, commissioning, and publishing social video/animation/gifs/static graphics/copy for social media channels.

Collaborating with Brand and Content team and other stakeholders to develop and deliver creative, effective and engaging content

Creating, interpreting and delivering briefs and requests applying a social first mindset and outlook to meet audience and channels objectives

Commissioning, optimising and reformatting assets from digital platforms to meet accessibility and brand standards within agreed deadlines

Understanding established and emerging social trends with a pro-active approach in predicting trends • Supporting and developing skills, process, workflows and new ways of working

Proactively upskilling the knowledge of peers, stakeholders and commissioners about what makes social content effective and engaging

Evaluating and reporting back on content with recommendations.

 

Personal spec:

Writing and editing clear copy in our brands tone of voice resonating with our audiences on a range of topics growing our reach and engagement across all platforms

Strong editorial judgment with awareness of trends and topics

Proven ability and experience in translating objectives and audience insight from a brief into strong content

Fluency in creating and editing graphics, video and animation using a range of Adobe CC for Mac and PC

Advanced photography and video camera skills

Consistently delivers to high standards with a strong attention to detail whether responding to reactively or within planned timeframes

Experience of a leading role within a content development team, briefing, collaborating and advising colleagues to deliver briefs and campaigns

Ability to prioritise relevant content creation based on goals and timely requests, knowing which tasks are most important

Advanced understanding of accessibility and usability standards

Predicts social trends and learns new tech quickly
