Role: Volunteering Development and Training Manager
Location: National
Salary: £33,250 to £35,150 plus £4452 London Weighting, if applicable

They are the country's largest Armed Forces charity, with 210,000 members, 50,000 volunteers and a network of partners and charities; helping us give support wherever and whenever it's needed. It is an exciting and innovative time for the Volunteering Support Unit as it drives the continuing development of volunteering across the organisation.

The Role

To provide thought leadership in the development and implementation of training in volunteering, volunteer role innovation, and volunteer growth by collaboratively working with the charity's senior leaders and Directorates. Act as the point of volunteering expertise for the group of charities.

Support the Head of Volunteering to drive the implementation of the Volunteer Strategy by leading on the delivery of volunteer development and training initiatives and interventions working closely with Directors, senior managers, and line managers to support and implement improved volunteer management and growth. Ensure that the skills and capacity of the volunteer teams meet current and emerging organisational needs.

Person specification

  • Proven experience as a volunteer management specialist working in a multi-site organisation can demonstrate stakeholder management, and relationship building.
  • Demonstrable experience in providing solutions, advice, and challenge to a wide range of senior leaders (Head of Department, Assistant Directors, Directors)
  • Demonstrable experience of innovative use of qualitative and quantitative data analysis to understand activity, identify trends to support interventions in strategic Volunteer impact reporting
  • Proven experience in collaborating with senior leaders to negotiate and develop innovative learning interventions
  • Proven record of developing, delivering, and evaluating blended learning interventions across multiple departments.
  • Demonstrable experience of project management and effectively influencing senior leadership outcomes
  • Demonstrable experience of building successful relationships with a wide group of stakeholders
