Help families find their way through challenging times.

A leading national charity is looking for a Family Support Navigator to join an innovative, research-led programme supporting family and friend carers raising children in challenging circumstances.

This is a rewarding, hands-on role where you'll provide intensive, one-to-one support to families, helping them navigate complex systems and access the right support across social care, education, health and community services.

You'll work directly with families in their homes and local communities, building trusted relationships and helping carers feel more confident, informed and connected.

The role
You'll manage a caseload of families through a structured six-month programme, providing tailored support based on each family's individual circumstances.

You'll:
  • Provide intensive 1:1 support to family and friend carers
  • Complete needs assessments, support plans and regular reviews
  • Help families navigate social care, education, health and other services
  • Build effective relationships with local authorities and partner agencies
  • Facilitate local peer support groups
  • Maintain accurate, high-quality case records and data
  • Contribute to programme evaluation and evidence gathering
  • Work across community settings and family homes

About you
We're looking for someone who can combine empathy, resilience and excellent case management skills.

You'll ideally have experience supporting vulnerable families, children or carers within a community, voluntary sector or statutory setting.

You'll bring:
  • Strong case management and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accurate record keeping
  • Confidence working with multi-agency professionals
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and trauma-informed approaches
  • The ability to build trust and engage families effectively
  • Professionalism and resilience when working with complex circumstances
  • Knowledge of kinship care and available support would be highly desirable

What’s on offer?
  • £32,491 per year FTE, inclusive of London weighting
  • £25,992 pro rata for 28 hours / 0.8 FTE
  • 28 hours per week across 4 days
  • Fixed-term contract until August 2027
  • London-based, with some remote working
  • Regular community and family home visits
  • Co-location within local authority hubs and community spa
  • Generous annual leave plus bank holidays, pro rata
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • The chance to contribute to an innovative, evidence-based programme supporting vulnerable families
