Location:

Contract:
Permanent, Full Time
Closing date:
Monday 23 November, 9am
Salary:
£64,000
Harris Hill is delighted to partner with Helen & Douglas House, the world’s first and much-loved children's hospice based in Oxford, to recruit an exceptional Head of Fundraising to lead an ambitious, successful and genuinely lovely team.
With an established fundraising operation generating an impressive £6 million annually, this is a fantastic opportunity to build on strong foundations, shape the future of fundraising and make a meaningful difference to children and young people with life-shortening conditions and their families.
Reporting to the Director of Income Generation, you will provide strategic direction across a diverse fundraising portfolio, directly managing four senior managers and overseeing a talented team of around 20.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a natural leader who thrives on developing people, shaping strategy and driving results. You'll work closely with your senior managers to translate ambitious fundraising goals into clear, achievable operational plans, creating a culture where teams feel empowered, supported and motivated to succeed.
You'll also champion the effective use of data and insight to inform decisions, strengthen supporter engagement and identify opportunities for growth, building on the charity's recent migration to Beacon CRM.
What they're looking for
Helen & Douglas House is keen to hear from an experienced, forward-thinking fundraising leader who brings:
- A strong background in fundraising leadership, ideally with expertise in legacies, major gifts or and individual giving
- A proven ability to develop and deliver ambitious fundraising strategies and translate them into effective operational plans.
- Experience leading, inspiring and developing senior managers and high-performing teams.
- Strong commercial awareness, financial acumen and the ability to oversee significant income targets and budgets.
- Confidence using CRM systems, data and supporter insight to inform strategy and improve performance.
- A collaborative, empowering leadership style, with the ability to bring people together and lead positive change.
Experience of Beacon or a comparable fundraising CRM would be advantageous.
Why join?
This is a brilliant opportunity to join a warm, welcoming and committed team that is already achieving fantastic results. You'll have the chance to shape the strategic direction of a thriving £6 million fundraising programme, develop talented people and make a lasting impact on a truly special organisation.
The role offers hybrid working, with two days a week on site in Oxford, including Tuesday as the team anchor day.
