Media and PR Manager

Are you ready to make an impact through media and PR? I’m supporting a fantastic health and care focused charity, to find their new Media and PR Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and creative media professional who understands how to turn the news agenda into opportunities for influence, profile and positive change. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the organisation is visible and vocal on the issues that matter most.

You’ll have your finger on the pulse of the news agenda and social media, identifying opportunities to raise their profile, influence conversations and showcase the difference their work makes. You’ll monitor relevant media and PR coverage and sector developments, keeping senior colleagues informed and ensuring they are well briefed ahead of media interviews and incoming requests.

Building strong relationships will be central to the role. You’ll develop and maintain trusted relationships with leading sector journalists and commentators, keeping them informed about the sector and identifying opportunities for our organisation to add insight and value to existing stories.

Throughout the year, you’ll also lead the media and PR planning for flagship campaigns and high-profile influencing work. You’ll develop 360° media strategies and packages designed to put our organisation at the heart of the news agenda and ensure key messages reach the audiences that matter.

Is this role for you?

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious media professional who has experience working across high profile and complex subject areas. You will have good media contacts, be confident working with a range of journalists, from leading correspondents to trade media editors and manage relationships with senior stakeholders with ease.

We’re looking for someone with a proven track record and significant experience in a media role in the charity, public, health or care sector.

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • £43,680
  • 25 days in the first year, increasing to 27.5 days in the second year of service and 30 days in the third.
  • Hybrid working – 1 day per week (Wednesday) in London office (King’s Cross).
  • We are looking for someone who is London based and can travel to central London at short notice to maximise media and PR opportunities that arise.
  • You will also be expected to take part in the out of hours media rota on evenings and weekends – typically one week in three but might be more frequent during periods of team absence.
