Senior Management Accountant - Systems and Projects

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Management Accountant – Systems and Projects with a museum on a full-time, permanent basis. As Senior Management Accountant – Systems and Projects, you will provide a first-class management accounting service to the Museum as well as leading on financial systems, compliance, and certain Museum-wide projects.


Please note, there is hybrid working in place with this organisation with a minimum of 1 day per week required in their London office.

As Senior Management Accountant – Systems and Projects, you will:
- Lead the development, maintenance and optimisation of finance systems, including ERP functionality, controls, user access and system improvements

- Act as the recognised finance systems expert, supporting users, delivering training and driving system enhancements

- Lead on risk management, compliance and regulatory requirements, ensuring policies and processes remain robust and effective, collaborating closely with other departments and committees

- Identify applicable finance-related elements of public sector and charity regulation and best practice, especially Managing Public Money and DCMS management agreement ensuring this is embedded in risk management and applicable policies and processes effectively

- Manage and improve budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes, including staff cost modelling and payroll-related controls

- Support and advise on organisation-wide projects, providing financial expertise and ensuring best-practice project appraisal and evaluation


The successful applicant will:
- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance, in a similar role (experience as a finance systems lead or in a systems-focused finance role)

- Be a fully qualified accountant

- Have demonstrable management accounting experience and strong technical accounting knowledge including Accounting Standards and regulatory framework, income tax, NI and VAT

- Have demonstrable success in process and control improvements and managing projects successfully

- Have a strong understanding of finance systems, controls, governance and compliance frameworks

- have advanced Excel and strong IT skills

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
