We’re partnering with a leading UK charity to recruit an experienced Interim Senior Programmes Manager for an immediate start.
This is a part-time, three-month interim opportunity for an experienced programme leader who can hit the ground running, provide stability and maintain momentum across a busy portfolio of regional programmes and volunteer activity.
You must be immediately available to start.
The opportunity
You’ll provide hands-on leadership across regional programmes and volunteer activity, managing a small team, maintaining key external partnerships and ensuring programme delivery remains on track.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing day-to-day leadership and line management to the Programmes team
- Overseeing regional programmes, projects and pilots
- Managing relationships with external partners and regional stakeholders
- Coordinating activity across internal teams and external agencies
- Providing strategic and operational oversight of the volunteer programme
- Managing project plans, timelines, budgets, risks and deliverables
- Identifying and escalating risks and issues
- Supporting programme development and longer-term delivery planning
- Onboarding an external agency to advise on the future regional delivery model
- Providing regular progress updates to senior leadership
About you
We’re looking for an experienced programme or project manager who is confident stepping into a senior interim role and making an immediate impact.
You’ll bring:
- Significant programme or project management experience, ideally within the charity, public or health sector
- Previous line management experience
- Strong stakeholder and partnership management skills
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities
- Experience in strategic programme design and implementation
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong risk management and reporting experience
- The ability to build trusted relationships quickly
- Regional, community or place-based programme experience is desirable
- Volunteer management experience is advantageous
