Development & External Relations Assistant
Job description
A College based in London are looking for a Development and External Relations Assistant. The successful candidate would need to Support the Senior Alumni Manager to build a more engaged and connected global Alumni community, increase the College's profile and unlock philanthropy. You would need to assist the Development team in the cultivation and stewardship of donors. To provide general administrative support to all members of the Development & External Relations department. 
Key responsibilities 
Work with the Senior Alumni Engagement Manager to promote and secure signups for a range of new Alumni volunteering opportunities 
Assist in the promotion and development of the Alumni engagement software platform 
Assist the Data and Insight Manager in maintaining the Alumni database 
Work with the College reservations team to identify Alumni staying at the College that the team can cultivate and engage 
Work alongside the team to develop the prospect pipeline and to keep it timely and relevant 
Undertake desk research using google, LinkedIn and other online resources to develop profiles on potential donors using an agreed format 
Undertake team related event administration including development of guest lists, invitation printing, running orders and guest profiles 
Organise room bookings, catering, agendas and minutes for team-related events and activities 
Provide administrative support to the Director of Development and External Relations when required 
Person specification 
Experience of working in either a fundraising, Alumni Relations or Experience customer service environment 
Experience of working for multiple teams in a small department and undertaking tasks quickly and efficiently 
Experience with databases (working knowledge of Raiser's Edge is desirable) including data entry and reporting 
Excellent interpersonal skills, confident in interacting with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally 
 
Ability to work well on your own, under one's own initiative and also 
as a member of a team 
Highly organised, able to plan and prioritise effectively 
Numerate and confident in handling financial data 
Excellent IT skills especially MS Office and Outlook 
Ability to research using different research methodologies
