Domestic Bursar

Job description

I am delighted to be working with the prestigious St Edmund’s College, University of Cambridge to recruit a permanent Domestic Bursar.

The College is seeking to appoint a senior member of its bursarial team. Your responsibility will be to oversee the provision and integration of the domestic services and its external business. This will be achieved through the leadership and management of the operational departments: Catering, Conferences, Accommodation, Estates, Facilities, Grounds, Housekeeping, Information Technology and the Porters’ Lodge. This is a new position; you must have the experience and vision to develop and implement a range of innovative changes to current procedures and practices.

The Domestic Bursar will ensure high quality, efficient and effective domestic services and maintenance of the College estate. You will need to set a culture of cooperation, developing a shared vision within and between all departments of the College, and be the face of several of these for stakeholders, including fellows, students, staff, and external organisations. The Domestic Bursar will be a member of a wide range of committees concerned with the College’s operations and infrastructure.
