Your new role

As the Assistant Financial Accountant, you will be supporting the Financial Accountant in all areas of monthly reporting as required, which includes reporting of prepayments and fixed assets, and processing associated entries in the Sun accounts system. You will prepare ad hoc analysis and preparation of schedules and reconciliations for year end and provide information relating to queries on income and expenditure during the audit. You will also prepare routine batches of payments to suppliers, staff expenses and large CHAPs payments, US dollar payments and dealing with routine supplier queries. In addition, you will be using the sales template to issue sales invoices, checking we have customers sales contract to support these and getting purchase orders from customers when needed. The role will also include support with credit control, by carrying out timetable of actions once our sales are not paid on time including issuing reminders to escalation.

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful you will need to be AAT qualified or part ACCA/CIMA and a very good understanding of accounting standards and concepts. You will need extensive experience of carrying out and analysing accounting reconciliations, making improvements to processes and strong financial systems experience. You will also need experience of using SUN/Vision and at least intermediate excel skills.
