Cognus Ltd is about education - we exist to support schools, families and children/young people to access, enjoy and thrive in educational settings in school and in the community. We are a successful startup that spun out from the London Borough of Sutton in November 2016 as a standalone limited company. Our main shareholder remains the London Borough of Sutton, but we also invite schools to become shareholders in our company.

Our services are structured into three main areas:

Advice and Support - working with schools and families to support children and young people to access and enjoy education, at school, at home or in other settings

Access - providing teaching and educational psychology expertise to support teachers, teaching assistants, parents/carers and others in developing their practice and confidence, and working with small groups or individual children and young people to understand and support their particular needs and talents.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEN) - supporting those with special educational needs, their families/carers and schools to provide advice, advocacy and training as well as the provision of home to school transport and other practical help.

We are now looking for a Business Systems and Intelligence Manager. The purpose of the Business Systems and Intelligence Manager is to ensure that there is sufficient provision and effective governance, and maintenance of the organisations business systems including the Synergy database, previously known as Tribal, provided by Servelec, the HR and finance systems and the provision of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) services to the Cognus team.

This will include information management which will drive business performance and support future planning through turning raw data into business intelligence. A key role to raise awareness in evidencing the impact of the work that we do.
This will include managing outsourced ICT support and leading any projects related to changing the organisations ICT provisions.
The role will also lead on FOI, Data Protection and GPPR compliance reporting to the Head of Finance.
The position will sit on various management and project boards as the organisation develops and will manage the development of the CRM for delivery purposes and review efficient integration to corporate systems such as CRM to Finance and Finance to Payroll.
Finally, this post will act as the data expert regarding governance and data protection advises the organisations staff on risks. The role reports to Head of Finance.
The post holder acts as the Management lead for GDPR, linking to the Company's Data Protection Officer ( DPO ) and assists with the monitoring of internal compliance, informs and advises on the Company's data protection obligations, undertakes Data Protection Impact Assessments ( DPIAs ) and act as a contact point for data subjects and the Information Commissioners Office.
We are ideally looking for candidates who are accustomed to change and project management with the ability to be an interface between technical experts and the wider business. You will also be a natural communicator with excellent self-motivation and problem solving skills.
