Harris Hill Charity recruiters are proud to be working with a charity that helps to support medical professionals and their families.

We are looking for an experienced caseworker to contribute towards the charity's 'casework programme' making sure the individual cases receive the help they need.
 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for processing and managing on-going cases & new applications for financial support. This includes compiling reports for the cases so fair & consistent decisions can be made by the awards committee.

Your role is to administer the financial awards while developing and maintaining a working relationship between the casework department and the wider organisation. You will be required to maintain a high standard of confidentiality while handling the personal and financial matters of the charity's benefactors.

You will be part of a small team, so we are looking for a team player who with roll up their sleeves to pitch-in, work collaboratively and be considerate. You will have a high standard of written English with excellent attention to detail and strong proof-reading skills with the ability to write letters, emails and reports clearly & accurately.

You will need to be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills because communications with beneficiaries will need to be handled with care. This is so important is because you will need the ability to process information and handle the cases effectively & be able to identify and resolve problems.

You will also need to be resilient, empathic and emotionally mature as you will show sympatric listening and be able to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
 

Desirable Experience

- Experience dealing with individuals who are facing difficult personal circumstances
- Knowledge of Grant Making
- Knowledge and understanding of state benefits, statutory funding and welfare issues
- Knowledge of the voluntary sector
- Experience of working with committees
