CEO

Job description

Founded in 2014 by a small group of individuals conscious that one of the wealthiest cities in the world experiences food poverty and staggering food waste daily, City Harvest's goal is to connect all available surplus food with those who desperately need it.

City Harvest is now well established as London s emergency response unit for surplus food, with our vans being recognised as symbols of hope for those facing hunger. To date, City Harvest has delivered 17.5 million meals, whilst offsetting food wastage and CO2 emissions.

We provide a lifeline of support for beneficiaries, not only through food but the social connection our food forges. The physical and emotional loads some have had to carry is astounding and City Harvest stands as a pillar of support for vulnerable Londoners. Through the long-lasting relationships with our 340 charity partners, we have been able to reach millions.

Demand for our food grows exponentially and we intend to be equipped to meet it. We have just moved into a new depot, significantly increasing our warehouse capacity, and have received strong support from our funders year on year.

Having established City Harvest and taken it to this strong growth position, our founder and CEO, Laura Winningham, has decided to step aside to enable a new CEO to come in and take the charity to the next level.
