Charities Accountant

Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Charities Accountant on a full-time, permanent basis with a livery company focused on being a philanthropic force for good. You will work closely with, report to, and deputise for the Senior Charities Accountant. You will also work closely with the Housing Team on the financial management related to the housing schemes and the Philanthropy Team to formulate the budgets for the grant making programmes.

 

Please note, you will be required to be in the central London office a minimum of 4 days per week.

 

As Charities Accountant, you will:

- Prepare monthly forecast information, quarterly accounts and annual budgets

- Be a key member of the Finance team and assist in building good relationships with the wider executive team, the membership and other external relationships

- Attend and present at committee, group and governance meetings

- Assist the Senior Charities Accountant as required

 

The successful applicant will:

- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role

- Be fully qualified (hold a Professional Chartered Accountancy Qualification)

- Have proven management and reporting skills

- Have experience and understanding of budgetary cost control and reporting

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
