Chief Executive Officer

Job description

Coventry Cyrenians is an independent charity that works with homeless and vulnerably housed people in Coventry and Warwickshire to rebuild their lives. Our mission statement is:

"To provide individualised support to promote and enhance the life chances of people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, and empower them to live as independently as possible."

Beginning in 1973 with a single volunteer and a night shelter, today we have 200 units of accommodation and a comprehensive range of services, many of which are nationally recognised for their quality.

It is an exciting time for our next CEO to join, as this is a critical moment in homeless services. The pandemic has led to the wholesale accommodating of people, everyone in , and a commitment to maintain this approach going forward. This will require the skills and knowledge of organisations like Cyrenians and an innovative and creative approach to collaboration across all sectors.

We are well-placed to play a leading role in this process, but to meet the challenges and opportunities the future will bring, we need to be more strategic and build our capacity. We need an inspiring individual to lead this as the next CEO.

Key details of the role:

Role Title: Chief Executive Officer
Salary: £70,0000 - £75,000
Hours: Full time
Location: Coventry

The successful candidate, amongst other criteria, will have experience of:

  • Senior leadership experience (most likely SMT or CEO level) within a complex, service delivery organisation;
  • Management of multi-disciplinary teams, ideally within the charity sector;
  • Developing and implementing organisation-wide change management programmes;
  • Developing and implementing wide-reaching, complex strategic plans that deliver significant business development;
  • Relationship management across a diverse range of stakeholder groups, including building and maintaining effective partnerships with funders and peer organisations.

We encourage applicants who are from underrepresented groups with protected characteristics, as we value having a diverse pool of applicants to find the best candidate.
