Chief Executive Officer

Job description

For almost 75 years, the Inland Waterways Association (IWA) has been the leading membership charity dedicated to protecting and restoring Britain s network of 6,500 miles of canal and river waterways; using our extensive experience and member knowledge to formulate policy and to undertake local and national campaigns that have brought huge benefits to the UK's inland waterways. Our vision is "A thriving, growing network of sustainable inland waterways for everyone."

We are now seeking a new Chief Executive Officer who will steer us through the next stage of our journey, building on our success, addressing the challenges identified in the review of the Association s work and objectives, while retaining our independence and respecting our charitable objectives. The CEO will work with all areas of the Association to ensure the successful implementation of our One IWA ambitions, ensure that governance arrangements are fit to deliver the benefits to the sector that are sought by our members, and secure and retain funding sources to ensure we maximise the achievements of our organisation. Crucially, they will represent IWA in the wider inland waterways community to a range of audiences, from partner organisations, to policy-makers, to the general public.
