Chief Executive Officer

Job description

CEO - Future Talent

£45,000 to £50,000
Central London

Inspiring and changing young lives through music

Future Talent has been inspiring young lives and musical talent for nearly 15 years.

Founded with the aim and ambition of supporting gifted young musicians from across the UK, aged 5 to 18 years, who, due to financial hardship, low educator aspiration and lack of opportunity would otherwise struggle to realise their musical potential. We listen to the needs of young talented musicians, and through our Young Musicians Development Programme support and develop them both as musicians and as young people.

We have had the privilege of watching many of these young people grow, not only as musicians but also into young adults with a sense of purpose, enthusiasm and confidence

Future Talent is now at an exciting stage of its development. We are seeking a new CEO who will be responsible for building on our success to date and driving future growth. Specifically, we seek to increase funding significantly to enable our work to find and nurture more young talented musicians in the future.

Our CEO is responsible for building on our success to date and driving the growth of Future Talent. Specifically, we would like to increase funding in order to strengthen the work we do and to secure our future. To accomplish this our new CEO will need to demonstrate that they are a passionate advocate for music and music education and the mission of Future Talent by:

  1. Developing our funding and support networks;
  2. Representing Future Talent externally to ensure a broader recognition within all key stakeholder groups (i.e. education system, music sector, government, corporate CSR, and media);
  3. Developing new and beneficial partnerships;
  4. Increasing awareness of the work of Future Talent through social media and other avenues;
  5. Ensuring we continue to build our internal capabilities around musical talent development and opportunity creation for young musicians, financial and donor management, and effectively leverage the Board and supporter network.

You will be ambitious and entrepreneurial, with energy and vision. You will have the ability to communicate the work, success and ambition of Future Talent and be able to engage as naturally with high-profile supporters as with the charity's beneficiaries. This ability to communicate, with both passion and a sense of pragmatism where appropriate, is vital. Our new CEO will have a working knowledge of music education and be able to manage and motivate people effectively. Experience of fundraising, management of finances, policies and PR will also be required.
