Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for a Communications and Marketing Officer -PR and Publications for a health related charity in order to work with the Communications and Marketing Lead to create, review and deliver a range of printed materials and secure press coverage which support the organisation s charitable objectives and raise awareness of the charity within the community.
This will be a temporary contract for 4 months.

Key Responsibilities will include:

To organise the design and production of a wide range of marketing collateral including flyers, posters, brochures, banners, etc. by producing copy, proof reading, and co- ordinating agencies and suppliers.
Write fresh, engaging and targeted copy for a variety of channels including: patient information materials, direct marketing appeals, our website, advertising collateral, hospice publications, campaign marketing collateral and press releases.
Produce Connections, the charity s bi-annual supporter magazine.
To arrange effective distribution of marketing materials, both internally and externally.
Maintain a stock control system for printed material.
To monitor and maintain the media monitoring database, making key staff aware of issues that affect or work or reputation and circulating cuttings as necessary.
Maintain the charity photograph library and storage system of relevant consent information, ensuring currency.
Along with other members of the Communications and Marketing Team, ensure the corporate image and branding is maintained throughout all communication channels



In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:


Experience of working in marketing and communications
Demonstrable experience of copywriting for different audiences
Understanding of importance of PR in a voluntary organisation
Experience of writing engaging press releases and selling them into the media
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to write persuasive and targeted copy
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent IT and administrative skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Well organised, proactive self-starter with ability to meet deadlines
Team player with keen attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Work and communicate effectively in a team environment "Can do" attitude

Flexible and self motivated
