Communications, Events and Engagement Officer

Harris Hill has an exciting opportunity for a Communications, Events and Engagement Officer, to join a national children's charity for 6 months, until the end of September.

 

The role is a lottery funded project which has funding up to end September. It will be a full time, hybrid based role with a minimum 1dpw in their London office. Ideally they would like 2dpw but are being flexible. 

 

This role will report to the Communications Manager and will be a key connection between the Communications and Community Engagement teams, during the final phase of the programme.

This role will help ensure that relevant information about the programme is communicated and made accessible to a broad range of audiences and stakeholders, particularly families, in the cachement area of Lambeth. This will mainly be achieved through:

 

Communicating with a broad range of stakeholders through developing, editing, and sharing relevant content online, in print and in person.

Helping to sensitively wind-down weekly sessions for local families in the community; identifying and ensuring key ‘next step’ communications.

Producing clear, relevant content for web pages, reports, articles, newsletters, social media channels and blogs - drawing on expertise from across the charity and partners.

Supporting the programme to plan and deliver a range of events, including events to share learning.

 

Experience:

 

Essential

Excellent IT skills, including experience using and Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Prior experience of event organisation or planning

Knowledge of how to create and deliver effective communications for a wide range of audiences.

Understanding of the use of basic design packages (preferably Photoshop, Adobe).

Proven experience and confidence using digital and social media platforms.

Strong interpersonal, communication, writing and editing skills.

Basic photography skills, able to take photographs and edit digital images.

Knowledge of content management systems: able to develop and update website content, use analytics, and search engine optimisation tools.

Good planning and organisational skills, and an eye for detail.
