Communications Executive

Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for a Communications Executive for a health related charity in order to work across the charity press office and social media functions, devising and delivering creative media and digital campaigns that will positively impact the lives of people.
This will be a 6 months FTC.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Play an active role in the press office: providing a prompt and professional response to queries; developing creative pitches and content to secure high quality proactive and reactive media coverage.
Play a key part in our social media team to plan, develop and write content that fits with the organisation's brand, tone and messaging for our social media channels
Work closely with other Communications team colleagues to devise, deliver and evaluate communications activity across a variety of subjects, including fundraising, research and policy and public affairs

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:
Relevant experience in a media or public relations role (PR agency or in-house)
Strong news sense and demonstrable success in achieving national, regional and trade media coverage
Experience of adapting a story for different channels eg print, online, broadcast, social
Proactive, with an enthusiastic and flexible approach
Desirable experience of charity, health, campaigns or research communications
