Communications Manager

Harris Hill are delighted to be supporting a pioneering human rights charity in their search for a Communications Manager to join their growing communications team.

Working remotely, with some regular travel to their Birmingham office, your role as Communications Manager will be to grow the awareness and profile of the charity by leading the planning, development, and implementation of all Communications and PR.

In order to do this you will:

Confidently lead strategic communications and marketing to maximise awareness of the organisation using an integrated approach covering media relations, stakeholder management, influencer engagement, ethical (impact focused) marketing, social media and offline channels.

Passionately champion the charity’s brand, promoting the mission, values and vision of the organisation and ensuring consistency and impact across all communications.  

Sensitively write, develop and produce materials such as press releases, briefing documents, media statements and online information suitable for stakeholders, including people with lived experience.

Successfully support the Communications Officer to grow, improve and develop the charity’s membership, Communities of Practice, and conferences / webinars.

The charity has been championing the human rights of people with disabilities for 50 years. They work to develop the skills and culture necessary to understand people's needs and improve their quality of life.

They help those supporting people with complex needs including their members, universities, government departments, local authorities, NHS trusts, service providers and mainstream organisations - to champion rights, ensure excellent support and continually improve practice. They do this through a range of training, consultancy services, projects, publications, conferences and more.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Solid experience working in communications and PR with demonstrable success
  • PR and media management experience, both on and offline
  • Ability to analyse data to inform decision making  
  • Demonstrated digital comms / social media skills and understanding of emerging digital marketing tools and platforms

Location - Fully Remote with travel to Birmingham

Contract - Permanent 

Salary - £30,000 - £35,000 DOE
