Communications Officer

Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for a Communications Officer for a national charity in order to join the team on fixed-term basis to help deliver several projects. This will be a temporary contract for 3-6 months.

Deadline: Monday 14th October at 9am

Key Responsibilities will include:

Support the delivery of the charity s publications and outputs, including formatting documents according to style guidance and templates, proof-reading, sourcing images and liaising with designers.
Write, edit and distribute updates and materials for external and internal audiences across various channels such as web content and newsletters.
Produce key messages from research summaries and reports.
Support the communications team in the implementation of a new CRM system and use existing databases to create mailing lists.
Monitor and enforce use of the charity s visual identity and brand.
Provide support for media monitoring and reporting.
Support setting up of systems for sharing information and communications activity across the Foundation.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Excellent writing skills, ideally with experience of working with research or complex/technical subject matter
Excellent attention to detail
Experience of using content management systems
Familiarity with the basic principles and stages of web design
Strong Excel skills
Ability to focus on systematic and detailed tasks
Experience of using CRM systems
Excellent proof-reading ability
Experience of using Mailchimp (desirable)
Experience of working for a charity, research organisation, university, or children s services (desirable)
