Communities & Events Officer

Job description

Harris Hill are excited to be working with a loved children's charity to find a Communities and events Officer to work on fundraising in the BAME communities. This is an exciting time to join as there is a new team focusing on this particular area.

Duties and responsibilities:

Manage and deliver a key programme of fundraising activities to engage with BAME Communities with the rest of the team
To proactively identify new prospects from community engagement activities to feed into the BAME fundraising program, using existing activities and developing new ones too
Work with the innovation team to develop new fundraising products for the BAME Community to engage them at key giving times of the year.
To develop, sustain and manage key relationships, stabilising strong networks with the BAME Communities.
To share knowledge and expertise within BAME communities with the wider Fundraising team
To recruit and manage BAME volunteers, engaging them with the calendar of community activities and inspiring them to create fundraising networks and host their own activities.


Skills and experience needed:
Experience of developing community and events activities to engage BAME audiences
Educated to degree level or equivalent
fundraising experience and proven track record of delivering growth from communities as well as increasing income
Developing successful strategies & plans to achieve targets
Experience of developing relationships with key community individuals and volunteers
Strong written and verbal skills and experience in communications cross-organisational and with internal/external stakeholders
