Job description

A charity based in Central London are looking for a Data and information Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for all data selections within their area and for the uploading of data received from across the organisation. Please note we are looking for two perm candidates and a FTC for a year.

Key responsibilities
Carry out data selections, exporting the data in an appropriate format and preparing related documentation.

Help load and maintain enhanced data and improve the quality of data input and output (MPS, TPS, Gone Away, Deceased profiling etc).

Merge and remove duplicate contacts from the databases and ensure they are updated against postal address file system or equivalent.

Test new and amended software, ensuring that it is error-free and that it meets the requirements of users across the organisation.

Work with the Senior Data and Information Officers to maintain databases and systems to ensure that they operate correctly.

Support and champion system security, including departmental and individual access controls, and password protection.

Assist in the formulation of procedures, guidelines and training programmes to ensure users understand and can undertake CRM System functions.

Person specification
Experience of relational databases, computer operating systems, database enhancement tools.

Knowledge of the Mailing Preference Service/Telephone Preference Service, profiling and address enhancement software.

Knowledge of the Data Protection Act.

Experience of maintaining computer databases, including the definition and creation of new datasets.

Experience of using Windows based computer software for analysing problems, evaluating their nature and cause, and to resolve the problems or to assign them to the correct party for resolution.

Experience of providing support to users of IT systems.
