Data Insight Lead

Job description

A hospice based in southeast coast are looking for a Data Insight Lead. The successful candidate will be managing the Hospice database and setting up systems and processes to help build strong relationships with our supporters, and ensure that any information they share with us is kept safe and secure. You will be providing insight and reporting to underpin our donor engagement strategies across all income streams. Managing the donor administration team and supporting colleagues across the fundraising teams, providing training and support whenever necessary.
Key responsibilities
Champion the use of the database and help to drive donor insight to ensure that we provide the best experience for our donors.

Support the team to grow the number of supporters for the Hospice and to maximise their gifts.

Work to improve processes, knowledge and utility of data to support fundraising activity.

Produce income generation reports and analysis as requested by the Development Director and Donor Development Manager.

Oversee the processing of gifts
Ensure that all income is correctly, batched and acknowledged ready for entry into financial systems by the Finance Department.

Supervise all other imports into the database and check all monies from the hospices' bank accounts that are relevant to Fundraising.

Update Raiser's Edge with the information that is provided from Cross Care regarding deceased patients, in readiness for any receipt of In Memory funds which may be donated by supporters.

Ensure that data input is standardised and investigate and resolve data quality issues by engaging proactively with users.

Provide all new fundraising staff and volunteers with comprehensive induction training in using Raiser's Edge where appropriate access is required.


Person specification
Managing a fundraising/sales/CRM database (ideally within the charity sector)
Experience of providing excellent customer service and managing face- to face donor relationships
Data analysis
Good analytical skills
Analytical and methodical with the ability to interrogate data
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage donor relationships
Understanding of GDPR, Data Protection Act, Institute of Fundraising Code of Practice and Fundraising Regulator's advice and powers
