Job description

A charity based in Central London are looking for Database Manager. The successful candidate is responsible for the upkeep of all the data and processes relating to the fundraising (Raiser's Edge) and supporter care (Salesforce) databases. They are an essential member of the team using their expert knowledge of how our data is processed both internally and externally, gift aid, GDPR and management of our fulfilment house to advise and support the fundraising, campaigning and finance teams in their work.
Key responsibilities
The UK database manager is accountable for the quality of the data held on our core systems, ensuring it is up to date, accurate and compliant with GDPR.
Ensuring monthly, accurate gift aid claims are submitted to HMRC.
The role holder will comply with the organisation's policies and procedures.
Supporting Raiser's Edge and Salesforce users by identifying training needs, co-ordinating and training staff and providing up to date documentation.
Person specification
Substantial experience of managing a database system within a fundraising or marketing environment
Good knowledge of SQL
Demonstrable understanding of fundraising and marketing strategy, techniques and income streams.
Proven track record of analysing business needs and successfully implementing database driven solutions to meet them.
Experience of managing relevant third party supplier contracts and of working with external data agencies
Excellent knowledge of Gift Aid
Good knowledge of GDPR especially relating to marketing
Ability to influence staff to adopt new technological / operational processes
