Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for a Digital Editor for a national charity in order to deliver for all major digital content delivery, including the main website, microsites, blogs, news and more, helping the charity to be more effective in their reach and engagement through the delivery of excellent, user-centric digital content. This will be a temporary contract till May and it could be extended. The role it could be full time or part time (4 days a week).

Key Responsibilities will include:

Understand the needs of our audiences through research, carry out content experiments and other forms of testing including A-B and multivariate testing, respond to feedback on content from our audiences and implement content changes on an iterative basis to optimise content for our audiences. Use digital analytics packages effectively to produce actionable analysis on our content and optimise it accordingly.

Manage our digital content calendar, and content requests so that all promotions are scheduled and meet our content strategy. Use our Content Management System to maintain and publish goal-driven content in line with our content strategy on the charity s website; ensuring that it is audience-appropriate, good quality and timely.

Work in partnership with other teams to deliver the objectives of our strategic plan related to this area of work. Enable our network of staff Digital Content Contributors to initiate content themselves by designing and delivering training sessions and resources and supporting them as required.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Excellent communication skills with demonstrable ability in writing and editing content for digital channels including mobile
Excellent attention to detail and proofreading/copyediting skills
A strong understanding of multimedia content
Ability to build strong and collaborative working relationships with people at all levels
Ability to anticipate problems and provide solutions
Ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a team
Excellent organisational skills with ability or organise own time and workload, and to prioritise effectively
Ability to use Content Management Systems (CMS) and Email Marketing System (EMS)
Able to keep on top of digital trends and best practice
Writing and editing digital content for a range of audiences
A wide range of tools for the management and optimisation of content
Measuring success of content and optimising based on metrics
Working with young people
