Direct Marketing Officer

Harris Hill are delighted to be working with a much-loved animal rehoming centre to recruit a Direct Marketing Officer for a 12 month fixed term period.

As the Income Generation directorate prepares to deliver Launchpad, the data strategy project which is an ambitious organisation-wide programme of work that aims to transform how the charity collect, store and use information and data about their animals and supporters, this role will support delivery of business as usual - helping deliver the Direct Marketing fundraising activity. The role will work across the Donor Appeals and the Legacy/In Memory Programmes, independently managing multi-channel direct marketing campaigns to recruit and retain Legacy enquirers, pledgers, In Memory donors and cash and raffle supporters.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Delivering direct marketing campaigns (including those promoting Legacy and In Memory giving) to cold and warm audiences, using a variety of channels and media including direct mail, press/inserts, telephone, DRTV, email and online promotion.
  • Writing accurate campaign data selection briefs for the database team.
  • Providing an efficient joined up service to our supporters by ensuring that relevant individuals and teams are aware and up to speed with direct marketing activity.
  • Developing promotional materials and marketing collateral for a variety of audiences and channels, including copywriting, briefing agencies and managing project schedules.
  • Monitoring all marketing campaigns against budgeted targets, and producing regular reports for the managers to improve future activity.

The ideal candidate will have;

  • Experience of planning, implementing and evaluating direct marketing campaigns, with knowledge of DM acquisition
  • The ability to apply direct marketing principles in a fundraising environment.
  • Knowledge or experience of Raisers Edge database.
  • Experience of writing fundraising copy.
  • And a love of dogs and cats wouldn’t hurt!

Please note this is a fixed term contract position for 12 months with a salary on offer of £31,750.

This is a hybrid role requiring 50% of your time to be based in the office, a stone’s throw away from the new Battersea Power Station development and easily accessible by overground trains and the new Northern Line extension.
