Director of Campaigns and Communications

Job description

I'm working with a leading international human rights organisation to find their next Director of Campaigns and Communications. This is a globally influential position within the international human rights sector, with a particular focus on advocacy and campaigns around freedom of speech and expression and will, therefore, include an element of international travel.

Your main responsibilities will focus on developing the charity's international advocacy and communications strategy, developing programmes for individuals at risk and leading its central global campaign. As you may also expect with a position like this, you will act as one of the charity's most senior representatives, for example, to governments/diplomats and various UN agencies.

As such, this position requires a highly experienced and articulate external affairs professional, with international experience in the human rights sector; proficiency / fluency in another main European language, such as French or Spanish, is an ideal requirement. Naturally, central to the role is a commitment to the organisation's aim of promoting and ensuring freedom of speech is a cornerstone of global society.

It is also worth noting that Harris Hill is recruiting for a Director of International Programmes for the same charity. If you would like to apply for this and would like to find out more details, please let me know and I will pass on your details to the lead consultant, Harriet Mountain.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in London. I am working to a quick turnaround and will be submitting a shortlist of candidates on the 3rd December. If you would like an informal chat about this position, please send your CV to harry.marven@harrishill.co.uk . Please note that only relevant applicants will be contacted; I will ideally either speak with or meet each candidate I put forward.
