Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Lead (EDI)

Job description

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Lead
Location: London (with 2 days per week in the office)
Salary: £55,000 per annum plus benefits
Contract: Permanent, full-time

About the Organisation

My client is a dynamic, mission-led charity dedicated to supporting young people and adults through personal development, learning and meaningful opportunity. Operating nationally with a strong values-driven culture, they are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

In recent years, the organisation has taken significant steps to strengthen its equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) foundations, including a full external EDI review. They are now seeking an experienced EDI professional to lead the next phase of this work and embed inclusive practice across all areas of the charity.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the organisation’s EDI strategy. You will work closely with senior leaders, staff, volunteers and key stakeholders to drive cultural and operational change, ensuring EDI is fully integrated into decision-making, policies, processes and organisational behaviour.

This is a hands-on, strategic role where you will lead the EDI action plan, champion best practice and support the organisation in becoming truly inclusive.

Key Responsibilities
You’ll lead and embed the organisation’s EDI strategy, driving the action plan across staff, volunteers and young people. You’ll chair the EDI steering group, keep momentum high, and support leaders in creating positive cultural change. The role also involves championing inclusive practice, shaping policies and processes, building internal networks, supporting training, and overseeing data, monitoring and reporting, all while staying current with legislation and best practice.

About You
You’ll bring strong experience leading EDI work in complex environments, with the confidence to influence and inspire others. You’ll have solid knowledge of EDI legislation, a track record in delivering change, excellent communication and analytical skills, and an empathetic, culturally aware approach with the professionalism to handle sensitive information.

An enhanced DBS check will be required due to the nature of the work.
