Events and Community Fundraising Assistant

A great opportunity has arisen for a The Community and Events Fundraising Assistant for a cancer related charity in order to act as the first point of contact for all Community and Event fundraising enquiries and activities. The Community and Events Fundraising Assistant will Field enquires to the relevant team member, and offering support to our dedicated fundraisers. This will be a temporary 6 months FTC.
The deadline for this role is Tuesday 20th November at 3pm

Key Responsibilities will include:

Respond to email, telephone and face-to-face fundraising requests. These will include requests for fundraising materials, fundraising queries and volunteering opportunities.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with volunteers, supporters and the fundraising team to deliver an excellent, timely and accurate engagement to our supporters.
Encourage supporters to become further involved in the charity, proactively sharing, where appropriate other opportunities of how they can become involved in the charity.
Use our CRM (Raiser's Edge), to manage relationships with supporters effectively, providing a high standard of customer care.
Work with the Community and Event Fundraising Officers, and managers to deal with enquiries that are sent to the fundraising inbox, deciding what action is required and when to pass enquiries to others.
Manage the registrations inbox, and work with the Database Manager to upload registrations onto Raiser's Edge daily.
Answer incoming telephone enquiries promptly and professionally, redirecting calls to the appropriate team member, or sign posting to another organisation if necessary.
Steward a percentage of own place event participants and volunteers. Taking regular stock checks, and placing orders.
Ensure thanking is carried out in a timely fashion and that thank you letters are regularly updated, and chase letters are sent to supporters withholding funds.
Support the Mass Market Fundraising team when required in carrying out a range of fundraising administrative tasks (e.g. mass mailings)
Help to improve event administration as well as fundraising systems and processes by overseeing integration of systems, and highlighting inefficiencies, suggesting alternative approaches and identifying savings that can be made.
Manage stock for the Fundraising Team ensuring that materials are managed accurately and is replenished as and when needs be, and that materials conform to brand guidelines.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:
Understanding of various fundraising methods and keen to develop professional fundraising skills.
Knowledge and experience of the charity sector as a volunteer, supporter or worker.
Experience and understanding of excellent customer care
Competent/advanced user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience of Raiser's Edge or a similar database
Excellent organisational skills, and highly efficient with the ability to manage a busy and demanding workload and to meet deadlines.
Ability to quickly build rapport and establish strong relationships with stakeholders internally and externally at all levels.
Adopts a proactive approach to work
Able to cope under pressure and manage your own workload.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to negotiate on behalf of the charity
