Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for a temporary Events Manager in order to manage internal events to launch the charity s new five-year strategy. The Events Manager will work alongside the Events Team Manager in the development and delivery of a conference and UK based launch events. This will be a temporary contract for 6 months.

Key Responsibilities will include:

To work as part of a delivery team to achieve the objectives and outcomes of the charity s strategy launch within agreed budget.
To work with the Events Team Manager to manage the planning, development and delivery of the content and logistics for a conference.
To manage the planning, development and delivery of a conference and UK based launch events.
To be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of the conference and events.
To source, book and hold the relationship with appropriate venues for the charity s staff conference and UK events.
To manage travel and accommodation bookings for delegates, facilitators, presenters and key stakeholders ensuring these are kept within agreed budgets.
To work in partnership with the communications team to develop a suite of event communication materials and signage for all events.
To manage the central mailbox responding to enquiries from volunteers, staff and third-party suppliers within agreed timescales.
To manage the registration process for the staff conference and launch events.
To design the evaluation process, collate responses and prepare an evaluation and lessons learned report.
To carry out any additional duties required to ensure the success of the launch events.
To work in partnership with key stakeholders (strategy Launch delivery team and external providers) to ensure the successful delivery of events across the UK.
To work with the Project Manager to develop and maintain detailed project plans including schedules, budgets, resources and risk logs.
To manage the complex planning, delivery and stakeholder management of these events in line with best practice event management, project management and the charity practice.
To manage allocated event budgets and ensure effective resource allocation.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Ability to build positive relationships and work collaborative with team and key stakeholders
Ability to communicate effectively in writing reports, support materials, correspondence and project proposals
Excellent verbal communications skills including presentation skills
Ability to solve problems quickly and sensitively and find new solutions
Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to co-ordinate/organise/manage teams of people to plan and run events
Proven event and/or project management experience
Proven experience of running large-scale/multi-day events (conference - 300 people)
Controlling spending and reporting against budget
