Facilities Manager

Job description

A charity are long for a Facilities Manager Facilities manager responsible for the smooth running of all Mechanical and Electrical maintenance tasks at the charity's two sites, one of which is a longstanding building of significant historical interest. You will ensure that best practices are followed for maximum efficiency to meet the needs of the Company, its clients and the Catering Company.

Key Responsibilities:
-Provide a mechanical / electrical engineering, building maintenance service, ensuring effective maintenance programmes are developed to meet statutory requirements, minimise risk and provide a safe and comfortable environment.
-Support the Catering Company in the replacement of Catering Company equipment.
-Efficiently and effectively manage contractors
-Manage budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness of all services.
-Provide a responsive maintenance service to pre-determined time scales and standards.
-Plan and organise engineering services shut downs for maintenance or new works within the Catering Company's operation
-Undertake and/or support surveys for statutory compliance, backlog maintenance and condition appraisal.
-Jointly overseeing building projects, renovations or refurbishments with the Surveyor.
-Jointly overseeing and agreeing contracts and providers for services including security, parking, cleaning, catering, technology and other areas where necessary.
-Jointly with the Surveyor undertake due diligence on all Company and MTBC leased commercial and residential properties.

Skills and Experience required:
-Proven post qualification experience in Electrical / Mechanical / Building services maintenance;
-Experience of inspection & testing of electrical systems to the 18th Edition IEE Wiring
Regulations standard
-5+ year's experience in Facilities Management
-A member of IWFM.
-Recognised management qualification i.e. NEBSM or experience.
-Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent registration (desirable)
-Experience in servicing / maintaining a fully working commercial kitchen
-Detailed understanding of Statutory and Mandatory maintenance regulations.
-Understanding of Schedule and Listed Building status and the associated restrictions
-Able to read and understand complex electrical, mechanical and automation systems
-Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems
