Finance Officer

Job description

I am currently looking for a Finance Officer (6 month FTC) for an innovative children's charity. I am looking for someone with great attention to detail and who is motivated to improve the systems and processes they work with.
In this varied and exciting role, you will lead on the monthly payroll and support the Management Accountant. You will also be responsible for various month end tasks including balance sheet reconciliations and accruals and prepayments.
Main duties:
Payroll
Responsible for monthly employee payroll via outsourced payroll bureau
Reviewing data from HR team and communicating to payroll bureau
Preparing internal reconciliations and carrying out calculations for variations for employees
Day-to-day management of the company pension scheme
Day to day oversight and administration of finance systems. These include Xero, Compleat (online purchase to pay system) and various ad hoc systems.

Cash book postings
Raise and distribute sales invoices and actively manage timely receipt of payment (low volume)
Manage process of paying quarterly bursaries to the charity's participants
Month end procedures
Complete the bank and other balance sheet reconciliations
Post recurring journals e.g. payroll and accruals/prepayments
